Tara M Vincenta, principal and founder of award winning Artemis Landscape Architects, Inc., earned her Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture with honors from the State University of New York's College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a BS from Syracuse University. She also holds a certificate of Merit in Healthcare Garden Design from the School of the Chicago Botanic Garden. Tara is CLARB (Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board) certified and is licensed in Connecticut, New York, and California. Throughout her career, spanning more than twenty years, Tara has worked on a wide variety of projects, including regional scale environmental and visual impact assessment studies, commercial and institutional projects, private residences and therapeutic gardens. A strong advocate for the use of outdoor landscapes for healing and education, her goal is to design outdoor environments that greatly enhance the social, physical, emotional and spiritual health and well-being of the people who use them. She used her wealth of experience to design the award winning SOL Environment concept as a way of addressing the needs of over one million children with Autism and their families.
Under the direction of Tara M. Vincenta,Artemis Landscape Architects Inc., recently received three awards of merit from the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Her work has been featured in numerous publications including, Connecticut Magazine, Connecticut Home & Garden, Fairfield County Home, Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, The Connecticut Landscape Architect, High-Profile Monthly, Kiplinger.com, Ridgefield Magazine, Litchfield County Times, Danbury News Times, and the Stamford Advocate.
Actively involved in community service, Tara serves on the Architectural Advisory Board in Brookfield, CT. She providespro-bono work on community projects including Master Plan for the proposed Mystery Park Recreation Center in Brookfield, CT., a Master Plan for Temple Beth-Elohim in Brewster, NY, and a meditation and prayer garden for St. Rita's Catholic Church in Nederland, Co.
She is a member of ASLA, (the American Society of Landscape Architects), ASLA's Professional Practice Networks in Therapeutic Garden Design and Children's Outdoor Play Environments, the US Green Building Council, and is a Certified WBE (Women's Business Enterprise National Council).
